Global Ties Aviation is not a flight school and does not issue certificates. What we do: map the path for the certificate you want, match you with schools and instructors, help you understand the cost and the financing, and when you are certified, bring you into the GTA pilot network first.

Certificates are issued by the FAA after training and testing with a certificated instructor and examiner. GTA arranges, guides and hires; it does not certify.

The paths

Private pilot
The first certificate: fly yourself and your passengers, not for hire.
40 hours minimum by rule; most people finish between 55 and 70.
Instrument rating
Fly in cloud and low visibility on instruments.
40 hours of instrument time, most of it in an aircraft.
Commercial pilot
The certificate that lets you be paid to fly.
250 hours total time, plus the commercial maneuvers and the checkride.
Flight instructor
Teach, build hours, and earn while you climb.
A commercial certificate, a written and a practical test.
Airline transport pilot
The top certificate, for the airlines and large aircraft.
1,500 hours (less through an approved program) and the ATP CTP course.
