WHERE WE WORK · THE CREW COMES TO THE AIRCRAFT
Aircraft detailing across the United States
Global Ties Aviation details aircraft where they are parked: the crew comes to the hangar or the FBO, so the aircraft is not repositioned for the work. Global Ties Aviation has worked on aircraft in the DMV (Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia), Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada, and is available to service aircraft in all 50 US states.
How does mobile aircraft detailing work?
Mobile aircraft detailing means the crew comes to the aircraft. Global Ties Aviation works where the aircraft is parked, at its hangar or FBO. The booking request names the airport and the FBO or hangar, and a person confirms whether the crew can reach the aircraft, and the scope, the price and the timing, before anything is scheduled.
01
Name the airport and the FBO or hangar
The five-step booking request asks for the aircraft, the service, its condition, the airport identifier with the FBO or hangar, and how to reach you. It takes about ninety seconds and needs no account or card.
Book aircraft detailing02
A person confirms before anything is scheduled
A person at Global Ties Aviation reviews the request and confirms whether the crew can reach the aircraft, then the scope, the price and the timing, with travel, labour and equipment included. Nothing is scheduled or charged without your approval.
03
The airport's own rules come first
FBOs and airport authorities set their own rules for vendors working airside, such as badging, escort rules and insurance minimums. Naming the FBO or hangar in the request is how a person confirms the crew can reach the aircraft before the job is scheduled.
Guide: what airside access involves04
The crew works where the aircraft is parked
A flight-ready turn is typically done overnight at the FBO, between a late arrival and an early departure, and the crew signs off before the aircraft is released. A ceramic coating keeps the aircraft on the ground while it cures, and the release time is given in writing.
Flight-ready aircraft detailing05
The work goes on the aircraft record
The products used, the quality checkpoints and the photographs are written to the aircraft record, so the next owner, mechanic or inspector can read what was done.

BY GLOBAL TIES AVIATION · UPDATED
01 · WHERE WE HAVE WORKED
The DMV: Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia
Global Ties Aviation has worked on aircraft in the DMV: Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. Winters there bring frost, snow and freezing rain, so aircraft based in the region go through a de-ice season every year. Summers are hot and humid, and airports on the Atlantic coast of Maryland and Virginia also see salt air.
WHAT THE CONDITIONS MEAN FOR THE AIRCRAFT
De-ice boots before winter
De-ice boots are best restored in autumn, before de-ice season, because fluid working into existing micro-cracks turns cosmetic ageing into structural failure. Inspect them again at the end of every winter. Collins Aerospace's de-icer care guidance sets the treatment interval by product, and restoration uses only boot manufacturer-approved cleaners and conditioners.
Freeze-thaw and de-ice fluid residue
Water trapped in fastener heads, control-surface gaps and belly seams is pumped deeper by freeze-thaw cycles, and de-ice fluid residue left over winter attracts and holds grime. An aircraft kept outside needs its drain paths clear, and its belly, wheel wells and seams cleaned and inspected on a regular rhythm.
A shorter detail interval in de-ice season
Most operators run a full exterior detail every 60 to 90 days, with wipe-downs between trips. Coastal bases, de-ice season and heavy use shorten that to every 30 to 45 days, because bonded contaminants hold moisture against the paint.
02 · WHERE WE HAVE WORKED
Florida
Global Ties Aviation has worked on aircraft in Florida. The state is bordered by salt water on three sides, the air is humid for most of the year, the sun is strong, and summer brings frequent afternoon thunderstorms.
WHAT THE CONDITIONS MEAN FOR THE AIRCRAFT
Salt that never dries
Salt absorbs moisture from the air, so a salt-dusted airframe stays wet around the clock, and that film is what corrosion needs. It hides where casual washing misses: lap joints, fastener lines, hinge points, the belly and inside the wheel wells. A gentle fresh-water rinse soon after exposure does more than a heavy detail a month later.
Sun, salt and oxidation
Sun and salt air speed up paint oxidation, and aircraft kept outside in high-UV or coastal environments need oxidation attention every year. Sealed paint sheds the salt that bare oxidised paint bonds with. Sealed brightwork holds its mirror for about four to eight months, and coastal operations sit at the short end.
Humidity and closed cabins
A parked aircraft with a closed cabin is a humidity trap, and long parking with the cabin sealed in a humid climate is one of the common sources of cabin mold. Smell usually arrives before visible growth. Cabin dehumidifiers, and drying wet carpet the day it happens, keep it from starting.
03 · WHERE WE HAVE WORKED
Las Vegas, Nevada
Global Ties Aviation has worked on aircraft in Las Vegas, Nevada. The city sits in the Mojave Desert: long, very hot summers, strong sun for most of the year, little rain, and wind that carries fine dust.
WHAT THE CONDITIONS MEAN FOR THE AIRCRAFT
Strong sun on upward-facing paint
UV breaks down the resins that give paint its gloss, fastest on upward-facing surfaces: the crown, the horizontal stabiliser and the wing walk areas. The first sign is chalking, a fine oxidised powder that dulls reflection. Caught at the chalky stage, oxidation removal by machine polishing costs a fraction of a repaint, and a ceramic coating then takes the UV in place of the paint.
Heat on sealants and bare metal
Temperature cycling stresses sealants, and polished aluminium re-oxidises. That is why every brightwork job ends with a metal sealant carrying a UV inhibitor.
A cabin in strong sun
Sun through the windows dries leather until it cracks along the stitch lines, and it fades veneers unevenly. Window shades and covers are cheap; re-dyeing a cabin is not. Cleaning and hydrating the leather on a short cadence keeps it supple.
Dust and acrylic windows
Fine dust settles on an aircraft parked outside, and acrylic windows are soft: a single gritty wipe can scratch them, and ammonia glass cleaner causes crazing. Acrylic windows are cleaned only with an approved transparency cleaner and a clean microfiber. Haze and fine scratching are removed by window polishing, within safe limits.
